Slow Fish 2021: event calendar

A concept of normality was swept away in 2020, and it will probably never return. With that in mind, we see Slow Fish 2021 as a chance to restart and reflect on the future together. How? Through an event stretched over a longer period of time, and which aims to take back—in full respect of health & safety measures—those social spaces we had to give up last year:

From June 3 to July 4

All aboard!

Slow Fish sets sail on June 3 or 4 (date TBA) with an inaugural conference with our partner institutions. The conference, held physically, will also be available to stream online.

June 4-30: online events

From June 4-30 numerous online activities and digital formats will animate the event calendar. You can meet the Slow Fish network in webinars dedicated to aquatic ecosystems, to fishers and to the future of marine resources. You can dabble in recipes, following one of our How It’s Made; you can listen to reflection on the future of our water – and our planet – in our Food Talks. You can explore the parallels between land and sea, the importance and the beauty of the micro-world that surrounds and supports us. You can investigate the relationship between the moon and the tides, the seasonality of fish, and even their voices! Tune in from June 4!

June 4-30: physical events in Liguria

June 4-30, alongside the online program, Slow Fish will unfold across the Liguria region, including Genoa, through numerous physical events. A map of all the activities and information on how to participate will be available from June 3.

July 1-4: Slow Fish returns to Genoa with physical activities

July 1-4, Slow Fish returns to Genoa with physical activities, the market, regional stands, food trucks and breweries. We’re working to bring back that conviviality which has disappeared since March 2020. We’re working to do so guaranteeing the safest possible conditions. Today more than ever Slow Food, the Liguria Region and the City of Genoa are working in synergy to create an event that can adapt to the health & safety measures required by the ongoing pandemic and vaccination campaign. More info on what actions we’re taking will be released over the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
