Acqua San Bernardo, expression of lightness.
San Bernardo is a minimally mineralized water, which flows pure and unpolluted at a height of 1300 metres in the Maritime Alps, in Garessio (Cuneo). From these peaks, when the weather is lovely, you can enjoy the splendid view of the sea.
Starting this year, San Bernardo is official partner of Slow Food Italia and Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2020: it’s the final result of a 100% Made in Italy vision, made up of shared values, quality and respect for the territory.
Famous for its high quality properties, San Bernardo is the expression of a fascinating and iconic label. The almost total absence of nitrates and nitrites results in a pure and unpolluted spring water, and its low dry residue (34mg/L) is synonym of lightness.
San Bernardo company power its own plants with wind energy and manages the springs with great attention and respect, bottling only a small part of what the Earth supplies and reintroducing – unaltered in nature – what is not used. Furthermore, San Bernardo promotes the glass packaging. Once the cycle is completed, it can be regenerated by Sicilian artisans, who create special gifts.
The bottle’s design is also Made in Italy, with the distinctive droplets of water created by Giorgetto Giugiaro – the famous designer born in Garessio (Cuneo), like San Bernardo company. Thinking about the past years, many sketches, designs and labels had been invented to communicate the image of the water. For example, the collaboration with Ugo Nespolo author of the “Il Tappo”, a work art destined to become another icon of the brand. Moreover, the advertising posters of Armando Testa and Cappiello, which are set in the collective imagination. Nowadays, San Bernardo focuses on innovation and does so by offering its mineral water in a can, in addition to give a multisensory solution with the unmistakable drops in relief: a packaging that meets the needs of the most sensitive consumers and blends with the unique style of the brand. Among the new products we can find the “Drops of Drinks”: sixteen fresh glass drinks diluted in San Bernardo mineral water and rich in organic ingredients, with real squeezed fruit and a selection of traditional flavours, like aranciata and chinotto. The range is finally completed with the “Drops of Bi”, which come in different flavours: from the Lemon-Mint to the most “spicy” ones, such as bergamotto and chili pepper. No preservatives.
The San Bernardo Group has made great efforts in terms of structural investments to increase production capacity. The five-year industrial plan for the Garessio and Ormea (Cuneo) plants included the installation of two new lines at Ormea and the making of a preparation room for syrups, dedicated to carbonated soft drinks and flat beverages in aseptic. At Ormea the new Logistic Center and Finished Product Warehouse was inaugurated. Positive figures also on the employment front.
San Bernardo belongs to the Montecristo Group, which was born from the union of two Italian families, leading players in the mineral water and beverage sector. In recent years, the Group has made important steps on the national market, with the acquisition in 2011 of Fonte Ilaria spa of Lucca and in 2012 of Fonti di Posina spa of Vicenza. Having become one of the leading producers of carbonated and aseptic drinks specialized in private labels, it is active in distribution in all modern channels. Today, it produces 500 million bottles, 90 million in sales, 4 factories and 200 employees.
